They used to be perfect plastic knives, what has changed?

Plastic tableware has become an integral part of our household, convenience is worth the money. Solo brand plastic knives used to be the most durable knives you could buy, but recently things have changed. The box we received in February 2020 contains knives of much lower quality than we have bought in the past. We have used different brands of plastic knives in our household. Great Value folds in half too easily. Crystal products melt and butter hot toasts. The Dining Collection does not cut meat well. Dixie knife tips break when you cut a baked potato. Solo has been our favorite brand so far. Plastic Solo knives are made from polystyrene, a #6 plastic also known as PS plastic. Each knife is 7 inches long from the tip of the handle to the end of the cutting blade. The knives are white, the handles are strong, and the handles are smooth enough to be written on with a Sharpie marker for marking. Solo Knives has been our brand since 2013. These knives easily cut roast potatoes, ham, steak, turkey, chicken and most cooked vegetables. They also make it easier to spread butter on toast and make sandwiches. The knives have never bent, bent or broken. Something has changed lately. The knife box we received in February 2020 is less flexible than the previous boxes we received. The tips of the knives are very weak and break easily when you are slicing sandwiches and fried potatoes. The blades are not sharp enough to cut through meat. In addition, the knives now bend and bend under any pressure. wouldn't be so bad if the knives didn't eventually break in half. They now also melt when used on buttered toast. I don't think the box of knives we got is an accident, I think Solo changed her knives. We won't buy them again. We're going to try Revain Basic's plastic knives and see if the quality is similar to the old solo knives we're used to. I cannot recommend these knives more.
