Description of Synology DS920 NAS Server NAS

Synology DS920+ is a powerful 4-bay desktop NAS that delivers fast and smooth data management and over 225MB/s sequential read and write throughput. This system is suitable for resource-intensive applications, speeds up Synology Drive and Moments, and improves web PHP responsiveness, making data management easy and efficient. The DS920+ has two built-in M.2 SSD slots that support Synology''s SSD cache technology. This reduces random I/O response times by up to 20x compared to mechanical hard drives without the use of primary drive bays. By connecting the Synology DX517 Expansion Unit (sold separately), you can add five more drives to expand your storage capacity.DS920+ includes Synology''s Collaboration Suite, a productivity and file sharing solution. It promotes efficient collaboration by taking advantage of the private cloud for full control over data and preventing data leakage. This is achieved through HTTPS support, a built-in firewall, and several automatic blocking mechanisms based on IP address and account in case of intrusions. The DS920+ is equipped with the Btrfs file system, optimized by Synology for high reliability and performance. Btrfs uses advanced storage technology to meet the needs of today''s businesses.DS920+ offers users a range of cloud and physical on-premises backup solutions. Backing up and restoring data is effortless and does not require the purchase of licenses (on compatible NAS models). With Synology Surveillance Station, DS920+ can act as a complete surveillance system. Simply connect your cameras to the network and monitor live broadcasts, play back recordings, and receive instant event alerts. Synology Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) is an intuitive hypervisor application that makes it easy to set up virtual machines and run operating systems, including Windows®, Linux® and Virtual DSM. With VMM, you can create a clustered environment with multiple Synology systems while maintaining the flexibility to scale out and migrate virtual machines for load balancing and resource allocation. Disaster recovery features, including snapshots, replication, cloning, recovery, and failover, provide complete protection for every virtual machine and digital assets at no additional cost.

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

In general, a very deserving model that possesses a great deal of prospects as well as a cushion for the time to come. "Holds" all of today's compact discs. Particularly noteworthy is the software. There are a number of different alternatives for managing data, including backups, synchronization with clouds and mobile phones, movie collections, photo albums with rights delimitations, and plenty more. Continuous encouragement and support.

Pros
  • 1. Exceptional overall performance (4 cores with a boost of 2.7GHz per, 4GB) 2. The capability of expansion in addition to 4 gigabytes of random access memory, who still lacked performance 3. Hot swap 4. The availability of bays for the storage of the SSD buffer components 5. Capable of holding up to 108 terabytes in capacity and expandable (+5 HDD) with an extra module 6. The availability of two one gigabit ports, with the option to link aggregate them together 7. A very compact size given its capacity of four HDDs 8. Valves that are quite quiet, in contrast to older ones in which they whistled even at moderate speeds. 9. Soft
Cons
  • 1. The price can be cheaper than expected 2. If I were the manufacturer, I would recommend that you soundproof it as much as possible. 3. The quality of the plastic; if it were softer, the model would have a lower noise level.

The worst purchase in my life, dont repeat my mistake

I spent more time installing disks than I did setting it up: (((before his death I am really happy with the device now that I have returned and purchased a new one. a household necessity without a doubt. The issues with Google clouds, which required frequent cleaning, are no longer an issue.

Pros
  • a description of brand and functioning. I returned and spent half as much on the same model. Everything is excellent. Quiet. He established connections with each TV. Excellent for working while on the go. Also, you shouldn't be concerned that the data would fail along with the drive.
Cons
  • Although it appears that technical help is common, there is no one to turn to because the nas ds920 + device just "died" on startup after loading the OS. I therefore did not have time to adjust. Evidently, the provider had bad luck. It would be possible to sell it as a set for that amount of money, saving customers the hassle of having to buy RAM and an SSD for caching separately.

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

The cost in 2022 will be determined by Alik, so read the customer reviews first. The issue is the amount of electricity that is flowing through the wire that has a Chinese plug (this may easily be remedied by purchasing a new wire).

That is a synology, and that sums up everything. This is the third model I've created. I made the decision to convert to using four drives for the first time and upgrade to the most recent version. Prior to it, there were just two of them. The beautiful supple stuffing that comes in the form of DSM is a definite pro. Out of the box, the product already includes all of the functionality that is required. The items that are lacking can be supplied to you in packages. Cons: The cost is, as is…

I can confirm that you are able to use RAM that is not the original. The SODIMM that I have right now is a Crucial [CT16G4SFRA266] 16 GB model. Acquired while shopping in Amazon. There is not a single problem with anything. Don't make the same mistake I did. It will not "eat" more than 16 gigabytes of storage space. Attempting to install 32 GB resulted in "did not start" message. Additionally, one Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB M.2 MZ-V7S500BW would set you back while. In the not too distant…

Pros
  • Outstanding network attached storage device belonging to the budget-friendly category; among the very best machines. This is the third product I've purchased from this particular manufacturer. There was also the DS415Play and the DS413j. The transaction was completed to my complete satisfaction.
Cons
  • Memory that is limited in the default configuration.

In addition to the WD CLOUD 2 TB, I brought it home. Easy to install, quick to get equipped, and simple to use. The rumors are embarrassing, but I believe that the problem is in the hard drives themselves and not in the actual gadget themselves. In general, this is a positive development for the house. If you have a deeper understanding of how to configure such devices, then you will have more flexibility in your configurations. A variety of environments. During the time that the area was…

Pros
  • Installed, geared up, and operational. Strong enough to be used in the home. Four Winchester rifles. It is possible to adjust how bright the diode indication is displayed (as well as to customize the brightness graph). An everyday user won't have any trouble understanding how to set it up.
Cons
  • The noise isolation is not very good. At first, there were two hard drives, each of which had a capacity of 2 terabytes (WD RED), and it was quite quiet. I added two more hard drives with a capacity of four terabytes each from the WD RED series; their noise level is approximately fifty dB. although it isn't too loud, the rumble in the hallway is well worth it. A room is not the place for it in my opinion. For memory, there is currently only one slot. (as opposed to the 918+, which only has one slot) + 4 GB of memory already soldered onto the board.

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

It grumbled pretty loudly while working with large files, so I took it right away with a set of WD120EFBX drives. I chose to try generating a cache even though I believed the situation would worsen. I used a Samsung MZ-V7P512BW, and additional disks are essentially silent. Some benefits Face detection in photographs. a separate volume for your backups. both virtualization and Docker. Any sort of access that deletes a file sends it to the trash. Just as easily as downloading files, you may share

Satisfied with the product, I recommend it to everyone.

I bought a 1TB NVME cache for reading, mounted two WD60EFZX, and left an 850 EVO hanging on 512 idle. Because the screws are still alive and the hit rate is between 60% and 80%, the cache is good. For NAS, the actual score is 4 negative. Instead of being a standard craft with some advantages, this is a decent device with some software issues. I debated which US to choose for over a week before realizing that there really wasn't an option. My evaluation leads me to the conclusion that there…

Pros
  • The NAS scarcely gets warm when it is working and is fan-quiet. numerous practical uses that are extensively documented, in particular: Synology images, a video station, ds video, ds note, hyper backup, a drive, and an outstanding client for vending (downloaded from the official site) tools for easy setup and administration. If there is no white IP, quickconnect is a lifeline; five stars for it. Stylish box design.
Cons
  • Due to the high cost of the Celeron 4 cores and 4 GB of RAM. You can purchase a vending-ready 3250U/16/512ssd laptop for $50,000 (for the summer of 2022). User apps' design and usability suffer a little since some things are not immediately clear. If the fans are quiet, two WD60EFZXs will crunch under intense strain like French rolls, and the NAS-a box won't try to combat it or it won't be audible. Unmasked rattles can occasionally be annoying. Badly. Application drawbacks: * note station - unlike ds note, there is no option in the web version to create a note based on a URL by copying the content of the page. However, it is unlikely that this option is concealed. The task reminder mechanism is rigid. * Audio station - playing is problematic in the flac+cue online client (gaps), although there are no issues with ds audio, which is not available for Windows. There are no workarounds for lossless playback of a single playlist without any issues under Android or 10 venda (aimp, foobar, and musicbee are, regrettably, not exported under Android). This is a game; the flac record format in m3u is specific to Synology. * issues (partially resolved) with video codecs; not all of them function correctly right out of the box. * Drive for Android's lack of local file editing synchronization renders the app virtually worthless. Applications cannot be moved from one volume to another using native tools (you might not initially consider this). The benefits of controlling access (by groups and users to subfolders and files) evaporate for the video (and audio) station since the permissions distributed to folders and files DO NOT apply to indexing. You need to create crutches at the level of shared folders because this is quite awful.

A second one was wanted, but for different purposes. However, let's wait and see how this one manifests. I guess I'll kill Amazon and my mail server. I'll test this out first, though. Una brakes. There is sort of no Succu Amazon setting. I'm perplexed by web muzzles because I'm used to consoles. I believe memory is insufficient. Additionally, I didn't know why there were slots beneath the SSD. I am satisfied overall.

Pros
  • Initial impressions are excellent. But hold on. I'll then eat my impressions.
Cons
  • fiercely trembles. The disks are quick here, though. Maybe this is not his fault at all. Plastic inserts with "dowels" are used to fasten disks. seems untrustworthy. Workmanship: Due to the tightening of the screws, I gave it a three. Possibly incorrect. As I test.

Excellent product, the best quality.

Dream. And remote access from anywhere with the maximum speed of IntNeta, and starting from GB of a local network channel, reads and writes faster than the HDD built into the PC with the right raid, without killing the PC and giving reliability unattainable for a PC and relatively low cost inaccessible to servers. Pros below: Compact, supports drives up to 16 TB, which is important with a small total number of up to 4x Its cons: Network ports are only 2x1 GB without the possibility of expanding
