The purchase brought only positive emotions.

Great NAS for the money. Why is the drive there - it's your own server delivered "out of the box" without the need for a long trial with the settings. It's simple - plug it in and it works.

Pros
  • Flexible configuration of access both via the local network and via the Internet is possible. A large number of built-in packages to expand the functionality of the drive, even by synchronizing with the existing cloud, and by creating and publishing a personal website on this drive. There is a lot of information on setting up on the manufacturer's website and in the community of owners of similar products
Cons
  • Access to the file system of the device itself is limited only via ssh The price is too big

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality is fine, it's fine to use.

Has pros: Processes are automated. Bought for storage of video content for TV Has cons: It works slowly, the software is not optimized for all types of TVs, be careful! (For example, the LG oled 2022 TV software could not be installed with a program for watching videos).

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

I have two drives of 6 terabytes each. and 3 tablespoons operate independently. The other disk is used for long-term storage, while the first disk is used for rocking chairs, slaughtering, and a virtual machine. It turns out that not everything works the way I pictured it. It is inconvenient to have to place photos and music in specific folders in order for the apps associated with the picture station and audio station to function properly. This is because you likely already have your own…

Pros
  • quick fix available. Stunningly little and dependable in appearance. Access to the device can be gained even without a white IP. The video station performs a fantastic job of playing video on both a television and a phone at the same time. You can provide a link to a buddy so that he can upload his files to Synology; the same is true for users on the other end who have little to no experience. Multiple distinct cloud syncs are available. The download station is capable of downloading onto USB disk.
Cons
  • usb does not support phone and hubs. VMware is available, but moving a virtual machine from a computer to the Synology DS and trying to operate it there will not be successful. It is not possible to install a virtual computer using a USB stick. As an illustration, I planned to place it on a USB solid-state drive (ssd). As a side note, the amount of RAM that can be used by the system is measured in multiples of 1 gigabyte. There is no sync tool available that can copy data from Windows to the location of your choice on Synology. On Synology, there is no program that can synchronize a folder with a USB device. It is utterly absurd that the WEB client for email cannot function unless the server is first installed, and even after installation, configuration is still required. My Synology drive has a channel width of 100 Mbps, however it is only capable of downloading up to 1000 kb per second when connected to the internet. You are unable to grant a specific application access to the Internet when using a virtual private network (VPN).

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

I bought myself to store photos from a fotik and from phones, since in , Google only makes money or quality worse. finally got what I wanted. but in addition now its own cloud for files, its own server for contacts and its own cloud notepad. completely got rid of Google American. just very happy with the purchase. beauty.

Pros
  • simple and functional can do everything and even more without restrictions
Cons
  • there is no such

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, I rate this purchase excellent.

• If you are a professional IT specialist (especially a web developer), then it makes sense to take it. Save on renting VDS, hosting, storage, databases, etc. You can deploy your web server, services, databases, workers, etc. on Synology. • If you are considering a file sharing solution for a small office, then this is also a good option because the OS allows for flexible management of users and access rights; • If you ONLY need to store files and nothing else from the above (no web servers…

Pros
  • • Looks beautiful. Very compact; • Attached is a beautiful and visual instruction on how to properly insert hard drives and at what address to open a browser tab to start the setup; • Configuration via browser. If you are an experienced PC and google user, you can easily figure it out; • A turnkey solution that does not require long and painstaking administration (everything is already set up); • Separate item for documentation. For each application, for each option, there is Russified documentation (this is just super); • Convenient and beautiful operating system for device administration; • The ability to use the device simultaneously as a web server, mail server, own VPN server, media server, proxy server (the list is incomplete. Relevant for January 2022); • Supports PHP, Java, Node. Js, Nginx, Apache, Docker, Perl, Python, MySQL, Joomla, WordPress (the list is incomplete. Current as of January 2022); • From FileStation, you can connect to GoogleDrive, OneDrive and DropBox; • Can encrypt hard drives; • Linux is spinning under the hood. You can connect through the terminal via SSH (enabled in the settings); • You can connect IP cameras; • You can install McAfee antivirus or Antivirus Essential (may be relevant when working together or when a mail server is deployed); • There is a slot for expanding RAM; • You can set up RAID 0, RAID 1 in a few clicks; • Free applications; • You can write your own applications for Synology (there are guides); • And many many very interesting things.
Cons
  • • Read the privacy policy. On the one hand, Synology positions itself as a serious and reliable manufacturer (like a Swiss bank for your data), on the other hand, the privacy policy says that under certain circumstances, Synology will hand you over with giblets. (the presence of encryption eliminates this case); • QuickConnect, in my opinion, is a convenient, but not the most secure solution. It is much more secure not to expose connect to the outside, but to deploy OpenVPN and connect over a local network (supported by Synology). Also VPN works for mobile device; • I don't think it's safer to store data on Synology than on Google. A fire may occur, thieves may come, a flood, etc. The data will be lost. For greater reliability, it is still worth doing a backup to some kind of cloud (for example, Google). 01/30/2022: • I have not tried to expand the RAM yet, but I have already seen information on the Internet that only original Synology sticks are supported, which are much more expensive than other manufacturers! Of course, I didn’t expect this when I bought this Synology . It may turn out to be something with RAM from other manufacturers, but it’s hard to predict how it will work later.

I installed it to replace the classic PC-based home server, which has become obsolete and has become very noisy. Any Photo and Video applications are almost useless, DLNA is enough to distribute video on SmartTV. With its pros: Ability to install additional applications in the form of Docker containers. In fact, anything can be done from the storage within the available resources. But then you should immediately take it with an additional bar of RAM. With its cons: The processor is still weak…

DS220+ was bought to replace the old DS209, which served faithfully for 11 (!) years and did not break! It simply stopped ating and one of the Barracudas began to "crumble". Tasks for a NAS are quite typical for a home: - file washer - pictures - movies - file hosting - working documentation - folders for wife and son. Modern realities with remote work demanded their own cloud, mail and virtual machines - Synologik knows how to do this, I will try. First inclusion. He did everything himself…

Pros
  • Ease of setup, reliability. Everything you need is out of the box. Quiet, cold. Feel free to classify the device as "set it and forget it"
Cons
  • The price could be lower ;-)

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

The device is wonderful, the video goes without brakes even with 2 GB of memory, I added memory, now everything is classy at work, though to deal with the device I had to study for a week, watch video courses, who does not want to delve into can contact the support service for 2500 per hour to set up and they will consult, only you, I think the questions will still remain, so I decided to get to everything on my own, because even if you know how and what it will take at least 2-3 hours to set…

Pros
  • Your cloud.
Cons
  • Hard drive heads knocking apparently when indexing folders, hard drives for NAS servers, I had to set the days of the week and the indexing time, I generally turned off at night so as not to interfere, does not restore power during a power outage if it is not connected to a UPS with the appropriate function, and of course the price bites.

Good product for me, no problems at all.

This NAS was a pioneer for me. I combined it with two WD Reds for 3TB - it turned out pretty brutally, and there was nothing to score :) A very worthy machine came out, always ready to serve my multimedia and just cloudy interests) The basic 2 gigs of RAM is enough to turn around and experiment in full, collect different applications, and even install everything through Docker. Regarding the noise - for me it was a very important question, so I will answer: the NAS itself is quiet, the volume…

Pros
  • + Easy to install and configure (any "confident PC user" will figure it out, this is perhaps the simplest network technique of all possible) + Reliability +Excellent multimedia features + A set of cool mobile applications that I personally use daily; replace almost the whole range of Google for me, except perhaps for search and YouTube, and even then the latter is partially also + Wealth of applications in the store for all occasions + Good and completely free technical support
Cons
  • -Price -No support for unofficial applications (but there is Docker, it's very good)

I put 2 WD RED 3Tb in it, I'm happy with everything. There are several applications on the phone, I chose the one that works as a file manager, without synchronization in the background. Reviews on the playmarket for applications are not very good, but I have no complaints. Pros below: Installation in 10 minutes. Keeps photos, distributes films. There is a docker to put everything you want (I put a video transcoder, but it's of little use, it doesn't work very fast). There is external access…

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

Brought, connected two WD RED drives, turned on. The assembly is simple, if something is not clear intuitively - there is an instruction. After starting, I tried to connect from the phone through a special management application. The application itself found the NAS, saw that the OS was not installed and offered to install it. But it failed. I went through the web interface - and everything turned out easily and naturally. The operating system downloaded, installed, I had to wait quite a bit…

Pros
  • Everything works out of the box. Simple operation, rich set of applications, quiet and surprisingly productive.
Cons
  • There are difficulties with access from Android applications if the NAS is connected to two providers and the security level is set to high.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

Very quiet and no complaints. But you will have to climb through the settings, as an example, it will not turn on itself if there is a short-term power outage, this actually often happens at night, so I recommend buying immediately with an uninterruptible power supply. And take a responsible choice of disks, there are many articles about this, good luck. Some pros: Very user-friendly interface and sharp security settings. It is full of software and there is open source, you can add something of

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend it.

Unfortunately, this is not a “plug and play” solution, you will have to spend a lot of time to set up the system and figure out how it is done in the Synology infrastructure, but there is hope that the device will only please further.

Here are other features that I use, but that did not fit into the dignity: - git server - the ability to mount remote FTP, NFS servers and provide access to them to users - a simple replacement for spreadsheets and a text editor - an index is built on the files and it is possible to find duplicates and bang them - and of course there are all sorts of tools for analyzing where the place goes - it is possible to deliver a bunch of software from the official repository (different web servers and…

Pros
  • Incredible number of functions with a fairly simple setup. Here's what I use it for: - storage of documents, home photos, videos, etc. - file sharing synchronization point in the house for many devices, phones, tablet, home PC, two laptops, and of course everything works on all common operating systems (Win, Mac, Linux). - of course, a backup, can sync with a Google disk, with a disk (bad, but this is due to restrictions on the side, the device has nothing to do with it) - of course, there is the ability to backup from the NAS itself to S3-compatible storage, incrementally, with a convenient search and display on the date you need to restore. If desired, the S3 directory can be mounted locally on the PC and pull out the data, even if the NAS dies - you can just backup to HDD connected via usb - to the directory backup mode on the PC there is a directory synchronization mode, a la dropbox, you just need to install the utility - print server (no need to connect an old laser printer to the laptop anymore, just print over the network), no more need to keep the desktop turned on to print over the network, no need to turn on the computer anymore to print something, because you can print from your phone (wife delighted) - torrento rocking chair - video watcher - they started watching movies on TV from it, but everyone decided that it was time to sleep, you open the same movie on the tablet and watch further without disturbing anyone - if there is an archive of your favorite music, you can listen to it through the DS Audio application on your phone, but if it clings to the phone with a car via bluetooth, then you can listen to music on a trip to work from the same storage, now you won’t surprise anyone, but it’s mega convenient - If you add memory up to 6Gb, you can run virtual machines for experiments. - And you can raise software in docker containers, for example, I use drawio to run on the internal network. - You can fumble files outside - Synology Notes is quite suitable for replacing Evernote, there is a version for PC and phone - and a whole lot more.
Cons
  • It’s very expensive to take it now, of course, especially considering that the piece of iron costs even without normal disks, and with disks the cost becomes completely sky-high . But here you need to understand that the is constantly falling, and there is a shortage of chips in the world, and in general a pandemic

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Bought to replace home made nas. In general, there are no complaints. With its pros: Quiet, good multimedia capabilities. If you do not be stupid, and read the reviews / manual a little, then it is configured very quickly. 2 gigabit rj45, you can configure link aggregation, which will double the throughput. Has cons: Probably from the category of nit-picking. There is not enough usb-c and usb on the back side is located very inconveniently. There are questions about the functionality of some…

Great product, best quality.

This is the first time I use such solutions. I would like it to work faster. Other than that, it does its job very well. I don't like OS-level restrictions that not everything can be installed. But these are my personal hiccups. In principle, for this money it would be possible to assemble a more powerful server and have complete freedom, but for this you will have to make additional efforts to configure everything for yourself

Pros
  • Works

Revainrating 1 out of 5

NOT a great Dropbox replacement, poor job.

Synology really needs to improve its out-of-the-box solutions. As someone with a degree in computer science and 30 years of PC and high tech experience, I can say this is the worst and least intuitive product I have ever tried. used since IBM introduced OS/2 Warp in 1996. Main disadvantages: (1) Installation is not easy. When setting up an online backup for the first time, give yourself 30 to 40 hours to read, tweak, try, undo, reconfigure, and reconfigure to get closer to what you were hoping…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • I'm nervous

I've been using this NAS for about 3 weeks now with two 10TB drives in a RAID 1 configuration I am generally satisfied with the purchase. Build/Materials: The case does the job, but the plastic cover slides over the rims and is held in place with rubber grommets, feels a bit cheap. The plastic clips on the drive bays also seem like a cheap option. However, it works and even these issues have not caused any problems so far. Since I don't plan on changing drives often, these are minor issues…

  • Good but not great

Solid performance if you upgrade the RAM.

Great NAS I used to replace my Windows 10 workstation for backup, plex and video surveillance tasks. Installation was quick, but I did my homework ahead of time and googled the instructions for the tasks I needed to do. The setup wizard only walks you through the basic settings of the device and doesn't even touch on most of the features that make this device as powerful as it is. Make a list of things you want your NAS to do, look to UTubes for a good guide and you won't be disappointed. One…
