Monoprice Banana Plugs - Closed Screw - Great Price

These Monoprice Banana Plugs (closed screw, gold plated) are pretty good banana plugs for the price. Looks Great: Fully gold plated, thinner than others (but longer). Not all mandatory items are created equal, so they may be a better match or not at all (rarely). Doesn't go well with my Micca MB42X speakers but they work fine (although easy to pull out). Oddly, they match my Micca OriGain amp stands perfectly. Instructions: Strip the wire about 3/4 inch. Unscrew the bottom of the banana plug. Insert wire from below. The end of the wire will come out of the other end about 1/4 inch. Straighten and unroll the end of the cable (it will crimp tightly when twisting the top of the banana plug). Important Tip: Cut the end of the wire to the desired length, only about 1/8 - 1/4 inch is needed so that when you bend it it doesn't catch the banana threads at the bottom of the connector (makes screwing very difficult ). Banana plug, tight Make sure the banana tip is also screwed on tight; Yes, it also detaches for no good reason (in fact, they seem to be reusing the body for the pin connector). Finished. Faster than it looks. Other tips: heat shrink tubing can be used over the wire and most of the banana plug to make a nice but more importantly insulating plug and reduce the chance of shorts (black and red tubing or just black with red electrical tape to wrap the wires to identify). You can use a locker (quite a lot). Things like DeOxit Gold can be used for protection and lubrication (surface protection, smooth screwing). Design (photos attached). seems to avoid the problem with threads). Or: Search the Internet for many similar photo guides.
