I don't know if it was intentional but this cushion is not elegant and not for the faint hearted. I mean by saying, um, when I'm typing this, the pillow is big and the design language is bold. It's not a subtle accent at all. Using this on your bed or other piece of furniture will actually try to steal the stage. If not because it's so large that it obscures the view of other decorative items, then it makes for a piece so distinctive looking that it's a subject in itself. I call it manly because it's not the softest pillow. The materials it's made of aren't the softest in the world. Just like the filling. To complete the masculine look you have a deep navy color on both sides of the pillow and one side is solid navy blue. And did I mention that the pillow will most likely get wrinkles that you will have to endure or get rid of with a dryer or steamer? Put together, this feels like the most "manly" thing you'll ever see with a throw pillow. While the bold and masculine design language may seem negative to some (not me), the materials used and the stitching can be universal flaws. The materials used here are not of the highest quality. I have mentioned that this item comes out of the box crumpled and daily use will also crumple the pillow. Therefore care is required if you want this pillow to remain wrinkle free. Also, the stitching in some places isn't as precise as we'd like. The pillow is by no means falling apart, but some lines are slightly misaligned. As a single, this pillow is a welcome addition to my home. For others, you will definitely want to consider where and how you are going to use this item in your home. Is there a man cave that needs a pop of color? Is there a guest room that's gotten a little too frilly, or maybe there's a teenager looking to express themselves and is a fan of navy blue? I want to say that this pillow should have a special purpose in your decor. For most, this is probably not an item that they unwrap and just "put somewhere". You will want to know exactly where this pillow is going when it arrives as it is not at all discreet and unable to blend in with any setting.
