Review on EVGA 750 BQ Power Supply, 750W, 80+ BRONZE, Semi Modular, 5-Year Warranty with FREE Power On Self Tester - Model 110-BQ-0750-V1 by Patrick Clifton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This device is great, but the cables don't make sense.

This is reliable, includes OWN boot tester, but non-modular cables contain useless 6-pins (which could have been 8-pins). Instead I had to tie up the useless 6 and install another 8 pin for my dual 8 PCIEX4 graphics card. Pros: The included modular cables are oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, and there are a ton of them. there are a ton of them. This, of course, COMPLETELY defeats the purpose of the modular unit, which should be less obstructive to the case and maximize cooling airflow. I think I could shorten or change them, but I wasn't sure how that would affect the SATA endpoint termination since interconnects are cheap old splices. Drives are NVME these days and people need to plug in an extra peripheral at worst? It's really about that. This is a budget 750 that will power your devices, but not for storage cable makers.
