It's definitely waterproof, it was raining quite heavily at 60/65 mph on the Autobahn. There was about 50 pounds in total in the backpack but it was 2 suitcases, 2 bags. And when we mounted it on the roof rack I only had the side rails not the cross rails so I had to overtighten the strap that was supposed to attach to the rear rail and it broke a bit along the outer seams π±. Luckily there are 7 more intact belts. And double/triple stitching. Did the job!
