Review on Effortless Baking: OXO Good Grips Medium Cookie Scoop for Perfectly Portioned Cookies by Tonya Zayas

I have to start by saying I've liked every Oxo product I've bought except this one. This is the third Oxocookiescooper I've bought, although I haven't found another with a more comfortable grip. But the mechanics are terrible. My first medium spoon broke on first use and I contacted Oxo and got a replacement. Then I bought another big bucket that has the same cheap and unreliable gear mechanism, also broken but I was able to fix it as a last resort. Yesterday I had to place an order for 200 cookies and I used my medium scoop which only lasted for the first 4 bowls (48 cookies) then the equipment failed as you can see below. I'm surprised to see high ratings for this product because I love the scooping feel, but I wish Oxo would rethink the mechanics of this product to make it much more durable. I have since purchased the Solula which is all stainless steel with no comfortable grip but appears to be a much more durable product. High quality stainless steel and durable gears. (But beware of fakes. Unless it's a gray box that says Solula, it's a cheap blue box with a sticker on the back that says Solula.)
