Review on QNAP TS 1635AX 8G US Marvell Armada Quad Core by Jeffrey Shatzel

I was hoping that this would be a good replacement for the failed QNAP NAS that had served me well for the past decade. To my surprise, the performance of this particular NAS is terrible. When connected to another NAS via a 10GbE fiber interface, the NAS to NAS data transfer rate was actually slower than the 1GbE interface and the CPU utilization on this particular 1635 approached 90% at peak times. I have contacted QNAP Technical Support and will give them an opportunity to help me and if they can I'll be happy to update my findings as needed.
