I've had my eye on this G-Shock for a long time, I like the all black look, the minimal text colors, the atomic clock and the negative display. The fact that it was a Japanese market item made it a bit more unique and the price reflected that. They all came from Japanese sellers for around $200. I kept coming back trying to decide if I really wanted to spend that kind of money on this watch. Well, one thing I happened to notice in the Other Sellers section was that they were being offered direct from Revain for $105. Not knowing how it could be, I still decided to pull the trigger and return it if anything struck me as suspicious. It wasn't supposed to be in stock until April but was excited for the update to arrive this week. Received today and happy to report the watch is ALMOST exactly as advertised. I won't comment on features, durability or day to day use as it has been covered elsewhere. I have no doubt that it will live up to expectations in that regard and if you're a G-Shock fan, you'll probably be satisfied. This is clearly a genuine G-Shock and comes with all Casio packaging, instructions and warranty. Map and hexagonal metal glass. Made in Thailand, not China. The watch itself looks and feels great. The only thing that might make some buyers think twice is that it's not the GW-M5610-1BJF (indicating the Japanese market) but the GW-M5610-1BCR (indicating the global market). My guess is that Casio recently released this model for sale in the US, which allowed Revain to sell it directly. It currently costs $140, which is less than what you would pay for a JDM model, but still more than many similar models of the 5610. So overall I'm happy with the watch. The LCD negative is not that difficult to read, in fact it is very easy to read when held at the right angle. The size is perfect, it feels great - light weight yet durable (if that makes sense). This isn't a Japanese version of the watch, of course, but to me it doesn't matter as much as the fact that they're about half the price. However, if you really want a BJF model, you'll probably still need to source it from a third party.
