Review on ASUS VP229HE: The Ultimate 21.5" HD Monitor with Adaptive Sync, Frameless Design, and Blue Light Filter by Mark Shuster

This monitor appears to be made by different companies despite having the same ASUS brand and model number. I ordered two of these monitors and one matched the colors on my laptop display while the other was washed out and the red looked orange. I was unable to fix the washed out colors either through the monitor settings or by manually changing the RGB settings on the monitor and my NVIDIA settings. I immediately decided I couldn't accept this, sent the monitor back with faded colors and received another with no problem. Revain did a great job sending me another monitor with no gimmicks asap. The two monitors I currently have are great and the colors are the same. I noticed differences between two monitors with the same model number. I will describe the good monitor first and then the bad monitor. The pictures will also be in the same order. Packaging1.) Good: The handle on the packaging box is white. Bad: black pen. 2.) Good: The foam protects the front and back of the monitor. Bad: The foam protects the top and bottom of the monitor 3.) Good: Quick start guide for VS228/VS229/VK228. Bad: Quick Start Guide for VS228/VS238/VS247Monitor1.) Good: Power LED is dark blue and dark. Bad: The power indicator is light blue and bright. 2.) Good: The underside of the base is half metal and half plastic. Bad: The bottom of the base is all metal. 3.) Good: The menu is smaller and not as bright. Bad: The menu items are bigger and brighter4.) Good: The monitor is bigger Bad: The monitor is smaller The ASUS logo has no effect on turning on the monitor. Bad: The ASUS logo appears from the center outwards. They have beautiful colors and go well with whatever I throw at them.
