Review on πŸŒƒ Evening in Islington Petunia Pickle Bottom City Carryall Diaper Bag by Rodney Sample

Nice, nifty diaper bag

This is not only my favorite diaper bag, it's one of my favorite bags in general. I have a limited edition black and gold version and it looks incredibly sophisticated, especially compared to a regular diaper bag. To be honest the only other two I've had before were sweetly typed Ver Bradleys, which don't like and will always come in handy, but they have their limitations and are pretty random. This Petunia bag with gold hardware looks great with jeans or a suit. For me there are cons, but not worth deducting a star. The lack of metal feet at the bottom of the bag is one of my biggest concerns. Every woman I know feels the same way, so I don't understand why manufacturers don't put them in flat bottom pouches at all. The changing pad is short and my baby is 106% height but that doesn't really matter. I don't like how puffy it is, or how puffy the underlined stretch pockets are that make the whole front stick out even when there's nothing there and look pretty ridiculous and show everything even when there's at least a few items in the pockets. However, once you are done with the changing mat, you can remove it and then it is perfect enough. only slightly shorter than most bags). In fact, the outer side pockets are so short that bottles fall out easily, including my water bottle. I've heard other complaints about the straps but I haven't had any issues with them, the quality is great and I stuff them full of crap and they never hurt my back or shoulders and I'm quite sensitive as I have brain surgery, thanks of preeclampsia. It's not a huge diaper bag but more of a large medium sized bag with lots of pockets. Personally, I keep a Vera Bradley weekender in my car, stuffed with extra diapers, snacks, formula, bottles, water bottles, change of clothes for both babies, burp cloths, blankets, etc. in the room, but two diapers per baby, wipes, a small pocket for facial tissue , an extra bowl, some fruit snacks, a burp cloth and nothing else. This works for me as I love rural Texas and have to drive everywhere so I can store an extra bag in my car, but if I still lived in Seattle and walked or took the bus everywhere this bad thing would just don't help. I need something like your weekend. Of course, along with my wallet, I also carry a giant phone, an iPad, and one of those big mommy calendar books. I love the quilted nylon fabric. It feels like synthetic silk, soft, beautiful and expensive. Unfortunately it does curl up in places, luckily not too bad but too much for what it costs and it started almost as soon as I got the bag although it has never gotten worse in the last six months. I also don't like the fabric they used for the bottom, piping and short handles. It's a type of thin, waterproof material that's often used in outdoor gear. I think it feels very cheap and flimsy and it's the only part of the bag that I think looks a bit cheap if you look closely. I have to say that despite this, he has held up very well, as he did the day he came to see me. I'd rather have all Tier 2 materials replaced with premium full-grain leather, but let's face it girls. because it belongs to the diaper bag category. Oh, the gold hardware is well done too and hasn't tarnished yet, which is more than I can say about some of my regular bags that are plated three times as much. God, it looks like I have a lot of complaints, but I just wanted to give a full rundown of my experience with this bag. All in all it was amazing and it's really beautiful. Under four figures it seems almost impossible to find a diaper bag that is grown up, well made, sophisticated and practical, but Petunia has managed to do just that with this bag and many other non-baby prints. If it's the right size for you and you're looking for something sophisticated rather than maternal/cute, it's in the $100-$500 price range. This is a bag. But if you regularly use an extra $20 stroller plate and buy stroller straps I haven't and am very upset with myself and now refuse to pay extra shipping costs lol.

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
