Try the lights as soon as you receive them.
I installed 12 lights in my 16" x 31" garage with 14 foot ceilings and it is beautifully lit. The only issue I had was that I ordered them in January 2021 and the wiring wasn't completed until April 2021, one of the lights flashed brightly and went out and the return window ended in February 2021. The other eleven work perfectly.
