This is one of the most stylish and quality burners I have ever owned. It's durable, easy to clean and I like the extra large surface area for pans and large pots. I got used to the noise of the fan quite quickly. It's not that loud, however, if you're in a tight space and extra noise is a factor, you might want to choose something else. I think the fan is there to keep the internals from overheating. So if it increases the durability and safety of the device, I'm fine with that. Another minor annoyance is that when plugged in, the LED keeps blinking but doesn't turn on. I wish it was either permanent or just turned off completely. Although this is definitely not a breach of the terms of the contract. I had a cheap Proctor Silex that malfunctioned and eventually died after a year and a half so it was a waste of time. This one is immeasurably better in every way. My advice: spend more money and get a quality stove from the start. This not only lasts longer, but is also safer. I've only had it a few months so I'll update if it doesn't last.
