I bought a much smaller bath from my local fish shop to increase the magnesium levels in my reef. It worked great! I then switched to a liquid brand and it works well too, I just found I have to use more to get my stats up. So I thought I like it because I can add enough flakes to grow and nurture without having to use the whole container. From an economic perspective, it made more sense. I use the popular 'Reef Chemistry Calculator' (search for these terms) on the internet where I enter my current level, then my desired level and then the name of this product. And it tells you how many flakes to add to reach that level. Simple and reliable.
