This is exactly what I needed. I use my car to reach remote places. I plug the device in and it keeps charging remotely and tracking my location. When I arrive at my destination, I pull out the extension cable and attach the carabiner. This is not a problem as it only takes about 2 seconds. Then I walk and set up camp away from the car. When I come back, I just put it back in the holder. When I stop wandering and come back and go again, I don't bother removing the clip to reinstall the device, inreach has great battery life, you don't have to remove the clip and reinstall all the time. I like that the USB cable is firmly attached to the mount. Anyone who has ever driven on unpaved roads or off-road knows that it gets shaky. I'm also very happy that there's no bullet attached to the back, allowing you to customize the device to suit your unique situation.
