Here is my review after 10 months of use I'm really not thrilled with the overall quality of this item Fluval seems to have missed the ball and just thrown it together after deliberation which disappoints them. The controller itself: The term 'WiFi' is a bit misleading as it doesn't connect to your home WiFi. It has its own Wi-Fi network that you connect your device to. (You should have used Bluetooth) The range of this "WiFi" is not very far. If you are more than 5 feet away from the device, the signal may drop and the app may crash. Application: The interface is not easy to understand how to use. (YouTube is your friend) It also crashes. LOTS of experience: When I finally got it set up, what I liked most was how it worked. It starts my light at a low brightness and ramps up gently over the time I set to the desired brightness level. No more big leaps of light for my tank. One of the biggest problems I had was that he lost track of time several times. All you have to do is sign in with your phone and it'll go back to where it should be, but signing in isn't always as easy as it should be. Pros: My lights fade and fade (no big spikes in brightness) I don't have to touch my lights every day Cons: App often crashes Controller loses track of time "Wi-Fi" is its own network, not my home network. but I'm not as happy as I expected
