+/- but SEE FEEDBACK on leg section screw issues

Received, tried to assemble twice, same result - 2 vertical leg sections just slipped together, can't twist and tighten, internal threads too small or external threads too small Great. It literally tilts/folds. As well as many other reviews that I haven't seen. :-( This is a very nice overall design but the lantern on the mast without the mast holding together is a heap of parts on the ground. Tried again, ordered replacement but failed on others. UPDATE: Received replacement very quickly. Threads tight screwed together. The top 2 pole sections with the 2 wires between the top lamp and the reading lamp were difficult to assemble as the wires are long enough to separate the 2 sections and stack in the packaging. But they can't move up or down towards the lamp to read when 2 sections twist together so you have to press hard to twist the 2 sections together direction about 7 turns which brought the sections together a little then just worked hard to get them together .in " the right tight direction "you". For the wires going to the sockets, some pole lamp assembly guides recommend threading them before twisting n twisted backwards to avoid shorting the wire by twisting and pulling at the socket connections, but in this case the untwisting has problems when screwing the rod sections together during assembly. But this can be done. You'll need to assemble the top two sections at the factory and simply use a longer bag, use a larger diameter rod so the wires can be crimped, or clip the reading lamp cord down into the third section to allow for compression when reassembling leave the tip. 2 sections. Everything, the lamp is assembled. But I use LED bulbs, which are longer than incandescent bulbs. Admittedly, the instructions mention a three-way lamp with a maximum of 100 watts at the top and 60 watts at the reading lamp, which, although not specified, indicates incandescent bulbs. Unfortunately, my national hardware store chain's LED bulbs overhang the shades - the top 3 are about 3/4" and the reading light is about 1/4". I'll live with that, but the manufacturer should consider increasing the depth of the shadows. Although it is generally for fire safety reasons, as with most lamps, domes have fairly large adhesive sheet labels that state the maximum size of the lamp (bulb). However, in translucent shades they look unsightly as they create a very noticeable dark area visible from the outside. Labels can be removed, but again usually for fire safety reasons. The manufacturer should find a less visible way of marking. The base of the replacement has 2 slight but noticeable scratches, 4" and 1". There was some sort of removable dirt on the ground around the bar junction. Factory QA had to catch everything. I'll live with it. The positives are that it works well and the translucent top lampshade lights up the room much better than the LED rod ceiling light I tried. The reading lamp is comfortable to read and its flexible neck allows you to direct the light in the desired direction. And the price is almost half that of the ceiling mounted LED disc I tried.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
