I bought one to replace a lightbulb in the basement/basement under the house. It does a great job and really lights up the area. However, after a few minutes of use, I can smell melting plastic and the mount and panels are very hot to the touch. I didn't think it had to be this way, but I've seen intense LEDs get hot in the past. Just think of the commercials where they use an LED flashlight to start a fire or set paper on fire. well.EDIT: The company contacted me about the above review. You have exchanged the item. I plugged it into a different outlet and ran for about an hour. It just got hot, but not overheating, and didn't smell like melting plastic. Rating increased to 5 stars.
