I've been arguing for a long time about how to rate the usability as it's not very easy to use but it's worth it. Front this is a newly built furniture project, no crown molding and I used Douglas Fir. As an oil finish you will not see exactly the same color with other woods and it will be darker on reclaimed Douglas fir; In fact, I milled "premium" framing lumber to get boards worthy of a joiner. The more reddish color may not show up very well in shots, it has almost turned the natural grain into a tri-tone finish as it also highlights some of the lighter areas differently. So far this has appeared to be a very durable surface, I have used it as a food serving space and it cleans up well with my regular cleaning products although I would recommend a thorough cleaning with a natural wood cleaning product. I tested scrap blocks applied directly with water and it drains water very well. I did not use the recommended directions on the bottle/website; I used the pure tung oil instructions. When they say plastic wool, I'm pretty sure they mean plastic synthetic steel wool; This is a decent item for a final undiluted finish as it takes oil well and you will be sanding/buffing the oil into the wood. bottle so you are basically getting a new bottle that may have been returned. Don't hesitate to save some money.
