After buying a used Soul with a broken key fob I called several local dealers and tried to get replacements. NONE of them had in stock to match the model we bought. They wanted at least 2 weeks and a few hundred dollars to get one. As the car was going to be a birthday present, it took longer than I wanted. I figured if I could find a gap here in Revain I could save some time. The blank arrived in just one day, but not a single dealer touched it. The same goes for some places that advertise making keys for these machines. Who knew Kia was so special? So my husband took the "guts" from a broken key fob and turned it into a working remote control. The old key is still needed to start the car, but at least the child doesn't have to fumble around in the dark to find the keyhole to open the car.
