Bought for 20 gallons of hermit crab habitat. Instead of using the heater under the tank I placed it on the outer rear window far left above the substrate. When using this on hermit crabs, they prefer the warm and cool side of their substrate, so it's best to place the heater just above the substrate line all the way to one side or the other. Using a heater under an aquarium can actually be bad and cause shedding problems as it will hear the substrate but not the air and the substrate will get too hot. My rating helps me for an hour!
