As I get older, my stomach sticks out over my belt. My pants have always been on my waist and still are. But that means that when I sit down, my big belly wants to slide under the belt, which is too tight for that. So I have to loosen the belt to be more comfortable. This whole process is not particularly elegant, but we old people know that this is part of gaining weight with age, and this belt always makes it easier.
