Tie it on even without a load
We use these with the bedpost on our 2nd gen Tacoma. We wanted to securely fasten items on the bed or on a hanger. The only problem was getting the nut to match the bolt. Our t-shirts are definitely more comfortable to wear. But with a little more skill, they could be secured in place. We really want the mounting rings not to be hanging loose. So we usually tie them together even if we don't have any items to pin.
