Review on Tripp Lite Passive Infiniband N282 01M BK by Lokesh Das

We bought a couple of these last year. These were the only cables we could find compatible with our IBM 40G switch other than the very expensive IBM cables. Several other brands are being rejected outright by the switch, despite claiming compatibility. I was very happy with it. They look exactly like the images in the product photos, with a silver body and blue tongue. However, I recently bought two cables that I had to return, a 2m cable and a 3m cable. I selected a previous order from my Revain order history and reordered the same cables as last year. These two new cables look different than the ones shown in the picture (they are physically different) and neither of them worked with our switch. Both are rejected as incompatible transceivers. The only conclusion I can draw is that they are now poor quality cables or they are not the DACs we bought before and are sold as the same.
