The batteries wouldn't stay in place so I had to try to get the two halves in the wrong way round. A lot of effort, but patience finally paid off. I also had to try flipping it upside down a couple of times as the lock or unlock buttons wouldn't activate. Eventually, I noticed that one side or the other just didn't snap fully into place. Basically I had to force it to snap all the way to the pint where I thought it might break. This is an aftermarket part and the silicon shell for the motherboard is not carried over from the original (tried this when the buttons didn't work). It works well but I feel like I should have gone with the original Ford replacement but I saved a lot of money.
