I needed something to keep my adult dog from slipping up and down our stairs, but I didn't want to buy traditional stair mats that were glued or taped on. And most of the pads I looked at that weren't glued in some way didn't have very good reviews. Our upstairs area is primarily for guests and is not used much and I needed non-slip step pads that can be easily removed when we have guests and the dog is not pacing. Also, I didn't want to waste an arm or a leg. But my main concern was a good grip on the stairs and my dog not slipping. This rug worked great! I made a cardboard template the size I wanted and started tracing and cutting with scissors which was easy. My husband was a bit skeptical that this would work, but he is very surprised with the handle. We had to be careful walking up and down with only socks but not those handles! I am very proud of this economical and above all satisfactory solution!
