The pump is economical, but some things look cheap.

I love this pump. It does what it's supposed to do, but there are THREE things I don't like about it. FIRST: The top of the pump is very small. Usually these caps are a large piece of steel, but this pump has a small metal cap. I can't tell if this affects operations at all and as I said it's working now. Second: I didn't like the 230V cables. They seemed small to power a 230V pump. The two 230V power lines were sufficient (perhaps a bit small). I think they should have been bigger. The neutral line turned out to be very small. This line isn't big and doesn't carry much current, so I can see why they kept it small. THIRD: I didn't like the holes for the lifeline. I have a large safety rope and the holes were too small for me. I measured them to just over 1/4 inch. I would recommend purchasing marine grade D-clamps when purchasing this pump if you have tubing over 1/4 inch thick. I used quick connects but had to run all over the place to find a place where they were stainless steel. There were also holes for the safety line on a small wing that came out of the top of the pump. I'm worried that one of them might break, especially when the pump has been in the water for over 10 years. I have used them both. You can see my settings in the attached image. Overall, the pump does what it is supposed to do, so I give it 4 stars. I'm not dissatisfied. A word of caution: almost every part of this pump I dealt with turned out to be cheap: wires, cover, holes for a safety lanyard. When installing a well pump, you don't touch much. If what I could see turns out to be that cheap, I worry that the rest of the pump is cheap too. Just a warning.
