My 2 year old Doberman has developed some bad habits such as eating. . I made an appointment with a well known professional trainer and she uses this e-collar. She really helped me figure out what setup works best for my dog and said she prefers dogs to have part of the tine on the side of the neck rather than under the Adam's apple area (she said it was quite a " been talked" to use it around the neck). The Adam's apple area could possibly do something with the thyroid, but she wasn't sure, so don't put it there, just in case) there's a vibration mode and a stimulation mode, which works similar to what's called a TENS box (people use it for muscle pain, google if you don't know what that is). We've only had one lesson so far, but it's pretty easy to use and we've practiced it on our daily walks. I wanted to make sure the ecolar was human and wise, and this one seems to be both. If it's used by professionals then I think that's a good reason to buy it. PLEASE do not use any of these without professional guidance or at least watch a video explaining how to use it. If used incorrectly, it can do more harm than good.
