staples work but arrived damaged. They had scratches where the powder coating had been removed. Purely cosmetic, but they had to be brand new. UPDATE: The seller contacted me and offered me a new pair of shackles. They were also scratched. The black powder coating had peeled off in a spot about half an inch in diameter, revealing the protective layer underneath, as if the powder coating wasn't adhering well to the temple. Another similar spot was swollen and peeled off with a fingernail. It's important to note that the bare metal underneath was not exposed, so their multi-layer coating worked and was intended to prevent rusting for now. Unfortunately both sets were scratched but the seller really tried to fix it with little effort on my part. Those are shackles, after first use they'll probably get scratched anyway, so that's fine.
