OK, so I don't really do much, but I felt like it really needed to be said. I've spent too much time on this project and maybe I can save you some headaches. As a first responder, I needed emergency lighting. As usual, I went through all types of LED dash lights and researched any new information. Being the incandescent type, LEDs were new to me. As you all know, first of all we need a bright light that can be seen. I finally settled on the light that sold for over $100. A few weeks ago a friend turned on the lights here on Revane. I read the reviews and watched the video and decided I would risk it for 20.00. In the worst case, I would put it on the rear window as a reversing warning light. Young ! Was I surprised. This is really an excellent product. The light on my 4Runner is too bright to see through the window. And it's DAY, I wouldn't even try it at night. (Okay I did. Couldn't watch it.) I'm really anal about what I spend my money on and I couldn't be happier with it. It creates those light stars that bright lights usually produce even through the tint of the windshield. I have a feeling it's bright enough for an answer. So what do you get for your money ok yes the light is plastic. But I don't think it's cheap at all. It's plastic and I expect that. It's very light and slim. A little deeper than I would like, but not that bad. doesn't take up much space. The power cord was long enough to run from the top center of my 4Runner's windshield, over the door frame, and through the dash to a power outlet in the center console. It could have taken a little longer but it worked well. I've since hardwired it to a switch on the dash. If you have a dash plug or mount it on top of the dash, there are no length issues. The switch on the plug is very convenient and has an indicator. The mode change button is on the device itself. I used the suction cup. it sticks very firmly to the windshield and is difficult to remove. I don't think it will accidentally fall off. Let's see how that holds up over time. If this is a problem I will secure it with double sided tape and it will be very strong as well. If you mount on the dash I don't see any problems. The lantern can be reversed if the brackets require a different angle. The light isn't symmetrical, so it fits better either way depending on your location. . This gives you a lot of customization options. Just make sure the vents are positioned so air can flow through them. I'm pretty sure it doesn't require much permission. The device comes with a rear flash screen that works quite well. In my truck it fits very snugly against the windshield. I did not notice any setbacks and hits. And the light coming back into the truck is very, very little. It's enough to know it's on, but not to distract. I glued some aluminum foil inside to be more reflective. A good addition would be the presence of a mirror material. As I said, the case is made of plastic. I don't know how it will perform in a very hot climate and heat or melting can be an issue. Let's see if summer comes, if there are problems with melting, but it's not as hot as some places. So something to consider if you live in such places. I don't know if that's really a problem. This device will not work in inclement weather. it is not sealed, do not wet it. Keep it the way it's meant to be. The only thing I didn't care was that the "red" side of the red/white is to the right of the light in my mounting configuration. Yes, you can flip and repair your device. I can play with him more if he's bothering me, but everything seems fine anyway. It would be better if the LED blocks could be switched, but that's a very minor point. I think it's a very good unit for the 20.00 I've spent and is probably a good competitor for headlights that cost 5x its price. I will buy another one for the rear window. I just can't go wrong with this. kW
