I think as with any technical problem it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. Is the problem hardware, software, or user related? However, I put my new system together back in June 2020 and it was working fine about 2 weeks ago. Then a pattern emerged. The computer booted up with no problems and connected to my wireless AC network. Then, after about an hour, the connection dropped and intermittently connected and disconnected from the network. This continues until reset, after which the hour clock is reset. I tried the usual workflow: update drivers, make sure I'm on the latest build of Win 10, and then even reinstall the OS. None of these solutions worked and it was about the same amount of time I would spend fixing the $30 issue. To be honest I'm not as tech savvy as I used to be. Ten years ago I probably would have put more effort into troubleshooting, but now I just want everything to work without a support call or CLI session. So I just went ahead and replaced the card. The problem is solved. For anyone wondering, you are actually buying an Intel 7265NGW chip (see attached image) on a TP-Link board. Also known as the Intel Wireless-AC 7265. So if you are interested, go to the Intel website and download the latest drivers. They appear to be much newer than what is available on the TP-Link support site. *** My Rating Criteria *** Build Quality (47.5%) - 4.0 Star Efficiency (47.5%) - 1.0 Star Customer Service (0.0%) - n/a Packaging/Presentation (5.0 %) - 5.0 stars.
