Let me start by saying that there is a significant size difference between L and XL. So if you have a large dog and don't know which one to choose, choose XL for comfort. My "old" dog developed nerve degeneration. a problem that was slowly crippling his hind legs (it would eventually), so he now uses a dog buggy to get around outside. The rest of the time he spends most of the day in his bed. Part of the nervous problem also affects accidents in the home, ranging from a minor commotion to full-blown puddles. End/legs around if he goes in (still thinks the postman is the world's greatest threat) it will drag him down. and then he would be a puddle pirate again (and would do that to himself). These cloaks changed his life. Quality at the highest level. Very well done. They fit much better and cover more than disposables. I used both at first (he can urinate a lot) but found they held up so well it was overkill. although nothing will be 100%. There was never any side leakage, but admittedly one day I was out much longer than I expected (all day until late at night) and he peed so much during the day that the packaging was a bit damp and some seeped. But again, it wasn't so much the film as that I didn't change it often enough that day. There is a link to cleaning instructions printed on the bag and I follow them and it works great. Also, I spray bleach on the "pad" and wash them in hot water with 2/3 cup bleach added to the (machine) wash water and they come out like new. There is no fading on the outside (mine is black). Please note that just like a baby in diapers, your pup will get a urinary rash, so I always put some medicated powder on the 'pad' of the wrap before putting it on. him, and that seems to help. This too has given my best friend a little more dignity and a longer quality of life, I highly recommend her!
