We have some cheap and expensive name brands that we have used with my firstborn but I have seen Baby DeeDee sleeping bags and thought the buttons on the shoulders alone were worth jumping with the brands. And I was right. I used to prefer Halo products, which are good quality and safe for babies to sleep in, but the convenience of not having to thread my baby's arms through the armholes (and, God help us, risk waking him up) stands out Baby DeeDee products take a solid step beyond Halo. In addition, my second child prefers to be swaddled very warmly and it is winter. Halo doesn't seem to offer anything as warm as the "2.5 TOG" products that Baby DeeDee offers (they use the same description on all of their Revain offerings, which I found a bit confusing at first, but a quick search of their site clarifies which products what thickness). The seams are sewn very well, the outer fleece is soft and fluffy after the first wash (fabric inner layer), the high-quality zipper slides easily and, yes, the shoulder snaps are very comfortable. I can quickly and easily unzip, unzip and slide my baby out for changing and feeding, and then I just leave the sleeping bag open on the crib mattress and put my baby back in when ready without bothering having to wake it up. . . I will be buying more and will recommend these as the best sleeping bags I have found on the market. Yes, they're a bit pricey (I paid about $40), but they're definitely worth it.
