You get what you pay for

The fan on my old HP P7-1110 started making a very loud noise, so I had to replace the PSU. I chose to do this instead of just replacing the fan due to the ease of repair. I've searched a lot on the internet and had a lot of trouble finding something that I thought would fit the old device. The Coolmax description said it was versatile so at $20 I decided to give it a try. There were both very positive and very negative reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect. As for Revain, they somehow managed to get me in one day despite having Christmas shopping behind them, so thanks Revain. for excellent service. After opening the box the power supply came, I was a little surprised not to find any written instructions or documentation. There was a power adapter and a power cord; that's all. I removed the old PSU from the computer case but left all the wiring attached to it. I then inserted a new block to see how it would fit. It was almost perfect, except the power cord is in a different spot, partially blocked by a piece of metal on the PC case. I used a rotary tool to remove some of the metal that was getting in the way and then the new power supply came in with no problem. them with wiring from a new power supply. I only had 3 connections to move, so not too bad. I plugged in the computer and it turned on with no problems. So I unplugged, pulled the cables together and replaced the cover with the computer. After reconfiguring the monitor, keyboard, etc., I booted the computer and everything worked fine. The only thing I don't like is the fan noise. It seems to blow a lot more than the old block. Of course, this is a 500 watt PSU replacing the 250 watt PSU. I just couldn't find an exact replacement as the computer is probably 8 years old. So far everything works fine except for the fan noise. For the price I paid I shouldn't complain. However, I wanted to point this out so that someone ordering this device knows what to expect.
