has no threads. It has the plug/anchor and cord that came with the original. Just take out the old connector and install the new one. You will need to remove the old one as the new one is already attached to the cable. I'm guessing I don't have a gas tank vent sensor as I happened to hold my old cap at a weird angle at a gas station and realized the cap's axle was almost snapped in half. There was never a warning. The cable broke when I got the truck a few years ago, so you can either keep it or put it in the truck bed when you fill up. My only real issue is that there isn't really enough information for the cap, you can't match the stem to your old one as the picture is just above so I had to spend a lot of time with the part number listed, going through all the reviews and Online shopping spare parts to pretty much get a calculated guess if this was the one for me.
