Great replacement for 2003 Econoline E-150

2003 Ford Econoline E-150 4.6 LG 49 Version hole. The lid will click once after you turn it 1/8 turn. Replacement was easy: attach cord to old gas cap, remove sleeve from bar. It was soft old plastic and I used various pliers and scissors until I could get it out of the hole. It did not last long. I put a new bushing in the hole, the gas cap is now tied. Exact replacement cover approx. 16 years. I spent more time cleaning the mold from the entire area behind the gas door (including the back of…

Pros
  • Made from high quality materials
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Fits perfectly and seals by locking P0442

(P0442) The vehicle's PCM (Powertrain Control Module) checks the EVAP system for major and minor leaks, among other things. This trouble code indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. This means that a very small leak has been detected. In more than 90% of cases, the gas cap has lost its tightness. For a few dollars, the problem can be solved, bypassing the much higher cost. Of course, the cap has to fit and seal properly. This cap is great. It's more expensive than the regular…

Fits my later (11/97) '98 XL F150 FlareSide

has no threads. It has the plug/anchor and cord that came with the original. Just take out the old connector and install the new one. You will need to remove the old one as the new one is already attached to the cable. I'm guessing I don't have a gas tank vent sensor as I happened to hold my old cap at a weird angle at a gas station and realized the cap's axle was almost snapped in half. There was never a warning. The cable broke when I got the truck a few years ago, so you can either keep it…

Pros
  • Abrasion and corrosion resistant
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Great replacement for the 2003 Econoline E-150

2003 Ford Econoline E-150 4.6L Gas Version 49. Three square tabs protrude from the male portion of the fuel cap that you insert into the hole. The lid will click once after you turn it 1/8 turn. This is a 1/4 turn cap, not one that "twist until you hear a click" has no threads. It has the plug/anchor and cable that came with the original, just remove the old plug and install the new one.
