2003 Ford Econoline E-150 4.6L Gas Version 49. Three square tabs protrude from the male portion of the fuel cap that you insert into the hole. The lid will click once after you turn it 1/8 turn. Replacement was easy: attach cord to old gas cap, remove sleeve from bar. It was soft old plastic and I used various pliers and scissors until I could get it out of the hole. It did not last long. I put a new bushing in the hole, the gas cap is now tied. Exact replacement cover approx. 16 years.
