I really didn't know what to expect when I ordered this item. I was building a new custom PC and just thought it would be cool and fun to have a dedicated touchscreen on the case when I wanted the display to be viewable on the PC and my 27" monitors didn't light up half the house. I was very pleasantly surprised by the build quality. I was even more pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to install on my Windows 10 PC. I just plugged in the USB for power/data and HDMI for the display and everything worked straight away, even the touchscreen part To make it even better I found it to be more than capable of displaying resolutions over the 864 x 480, which it was limited to, and it ran comfortably at 1024 x 768 resolution. The touch portion isn't as accurate as we've come to expect from our phones these days, but it feels more responsive than most touchscreen Laptops I've seen in the store. Screen on/off control. Data is also sent via the USB port. If you turn off your computer but your USB port still has power, you'll see a gray screen (on, but mostly no video data). If you want to disconnect the screen from the computer, you have to turn off the monitor in the settings (gray screen again) or disable the USB port. However, there's a slider on the back of the display that lets you essentially turn off the backlight (the screen still displays video but isn't backlit). Among these three fancy options, you can easily determine which one is the most convenient for you. My screen stays on the whole time the computer is on and I configured it to show a specific static background on this monitor to make it look like a branded screen on my PC case. I can then move fan controls, EQs and whatever I want on screen and adjust them via touch, which is amazing.
