RENEW. In less than a month of wearing these shoes, the left boot developed a tear at the junction of the steel toe and rubber. The tear is approximately 2 inches long and runs down from the outside edge and through the sole. I contacted Revain and they sent a new pair overnight. I'll let you know how this set works. UPDATE #2: 2 months after getting a backup pair, they also split at the same point. There seems to be a design weakness where the steel cover and rubber come together. I will not ask for another replacement. I bought these as an experiment to see if they were more comfortable than regular steel toe shoes. They match my running shoes very well (I wear women's size 7) and don't pinch or pinch my toes. However, these things are not easy. They are VERY heavy and take some getting used to as all the weight is on the front foot. Being on my feet 12-14 hours a day means my feet and calves get very tired around the middle of a shift. If you need something to just make short trips to camp that would be fine, but for my needs I'll limit myself to regular steel-toed shoes with good quality soles.
