I bought this pump for showering while we spent two weeks fixing our drain pipe. I connected the hose to the pump, put the pump in the bathtub. Suction cups on the bottom of the pump keep it in place in the tub. He stuck the other end of the hose out the window. I plugged the power cord into the outlet and it immediately started pumping water out of the tub. Ideal. The pump speed was great. It pumps out up to 1/4" of water, so when the water reached almost 1/4" I pulled the plug out of the wall and it stopped. According to the instructions, do not let it dry out. Simple and easy to use. would recommend.
