This humidifier doesn't disappoint with its ability to boost humidity in a large room. We have a forced air heater that dries the air every time it blows, and this humidifier really can withstand that. But this humidifier (like any other humidifier) has a problem: cleaning becomes a nightmare. Yes, you can put the top and bottom of the case in the dishwasher (rinse cycle only) and the dust will wash away. But the intervertebral discs are heavily soiled with a yellowish mucous substance. And putting the discs in the dishwasher has no effect. You can't wash off the dirt. You can get out your toothbrush and dish soap every two weeks and clean the discs (or the bits that can be reached in an hour, to be precise), or you can shell out $13 for a Venta cleaner. Both options are terrible. For Venta credit, I have to stress that cleaning is a big issue with any humidifier. Most humidifiers I've seen have never been cleaned and they are essentially germ spreading devices. At least the Venta you can either elbow clean or drop $13 on a problem. Paying $400 every two weeks for this humidifier is grossly overpriced and even my $300 Black Friday deal seems overpriced for what you're getting. then you can move it easily.
