Easy to use, more flexible than equivalent nylon straps

I used to use strong nylon straps; I ordered this item out of curiosity. This flat material resembles two comfy nylon straps that are (sort of) connected at the edges. Material is supplied as a single piece with no cuts/joins and with heat sealed ends. Cutting through the material with good (e.g. surgical) scissors reveals its tubular nature: two hand-friendly nylon straps lie flat, but can be squeezed together to reveal a 5/8-inch ID tube. I soldered (without fuse) the cut edges with a burning wooden match; When hot metal presses the material against a flat surface, the material is repelled. The double-layer material is easier to sew on a sewing machine (e.g. attach buckles) than a similar nylon strap. I have not tested this material's 4,000lb tear strength, but this compact material is useful for including in car trunk bags. The two-layer construction of the IMO material feels lighter in the hand and is more flexible than a similar nylon strap. The material ties like a strap, but the flexibility of the two-layer construction makes it easy to tie knots efficiently. The website suggests using this tubular material as a protective coating for ropes or cables; This setup (pushing the rope) would be boring in my opinion.
