This stock holder places the face of the ram flush with the stock holder allowing you to thread much closer to the base of the front sight when threading rifle muzzles. On some other dies, the cutting edge can be positioned under the edge of the part holding the cutting edge, allowing it to rest on the underside of the tool surface before the thread is fully cut. There is no problem with this tool as it allows the die to be completely cut until the die itself touches the FSB. I will recommend it to others.
