I seldom do reviews, but this particular light is well worth promoting.We purchased this to replace a pitifully dim ceiling fan that lived above the dinning room table. The installation was a breeze, as the unit is equipped with a "3rd hand" cable retention device, permitting one person to complete the fitment without issue. All components that make up the lights mounting ring / surface backing plate are of a light gauge steel construction, no plastic, which provides a flush fit at the ceiling that was spot on.Once powered up, the illuminated surface area provides a smooth light cast off that is both even and well balanced with zero sign of bulbs / elements through its diffusor. A light selection switch (changes light temperature / color) is located on the base plate and must be selected prior end of installation. Simply place the switch at the light output / color level you require before the final step of attaching the light to its mounting ring.Note - If you wish to change it later, you'll need to rotate the fixture to release it from the mounting ring, which allows access to the switch underneath. Not a big deal, requires no tools, but still worth mentioning.The ultra low profile of this light is a welcome feature and its overall build quality is very impressive. I'd buy another one in a heart beat. and just may, because these types of quality finds don't come around that often especially at this price point.
