Finally! A hose end that works

I've been struggling most of my life - and I'm an old man, so that's a long time! - to find a way to find a way to repair the ends of hoses rather than replace them. It's at the ends where my hoses seem to get damaged. I run over the ends with my tractor, they get chewed up by the dog, and sometimes they get stuck on the nozzle I've attached to them.Both the metal ones and the plastic ones I've been buying at my hardware store are unsatisfactory, either because they leak (plastic) or because the hose clamp they use eats up your hand when you use them (metal). These go on smoothly, tighten up securely, and operate comfortably. Now I'm looking all over the farm for more hoses to repair.

These units are way, way better than the normal hose clamp style "slice your fingers off" hose repair modules. That said I couldn''t get the dang things tightened enough to prevent leaks. Maybe my hoses are the wrong diameter? I''m not getting out the calipers to fix a hose. Also, if they just sprung for hex head screws rather than Philips then you could really crank down on them. Alas, maybe they''ll work better on my next hose repair.
