Review on ☕ Bonavita BV1900TS: SCA Certified 8 Cup Coffee Maker with Thermal Carafe - Effortless One-Touch Pour Over Brewing by Allison Garcia

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Bovavita Used to make a great coffee maker -- Update -- I made a bad unit --

I have had 3 Bonavita coffee makers in 12 years -- Current, 1 month old. They have been rated highly for delivering water between 195 and 205 degrees. My first 2 did and worked well for years. However, this model must have been redesigned by the tea drinking marketing team! Decanter - the spout has been removed. I challenge anyone who can pour water from a carafe without spilling anything! (but a new cover is better).2. The brew cycle starts with water at a much lower temperature and eventually reaches temperature after about 1/3 of the cycle. The "improved" filter holder uses flat-bottomed paper filters instead of cones. Fine for those brewing with stale beans, but even with the 'special power button' setting for fresh coffee, mine foams over the paper filter. However, the old cone filter basket still works great with the new design. . A month and the water pump turns off several times in a cycle - in other words, not in operation for a month. Time to buy another manufacturer! EDIT: I got a reply from Bonavita's warranty department! == Total madness! "Your brewery is working as designed." -- If it stops mid-cycle, it needs to be descaled. Brewer stopped pumping after 32 days of use with R/O water. There is no suggestion to replace the device. Again, don't mess with Bonvitaworld! UPDATE II: Jim Peterson, Head of Sales, had two in-depth interviews with me. We have concluded that the unit I received was defective. So all my comments except one about the gelled collar on the carafe are because of the lemon. Bonavita sent me a full refund and that's all I could ask for. He was very helpful.
