The only thing I don't like about this coffee maker is the carafe. And since I usually only make a half-batch (4 "cups" or 20 ounces) for myself, I found an insulated stainless steel mug that you can use in place of a carafe for brewing. The brew basket fits perfectly in the mouth of the AVEX, Brew Pint Glass, 20 oz, Slate and the height is perfect too. Simply fill the water tank with up to 4 cups.
