I've heard so many good things about this coffee maker, especially how it got SCAA approval for a home use drip coffee maker, that I was intrigued. After comparing it to the MUCH more expensive Moccamaster I pulled the trigger and bought this brewer. This is the next best decision I've ever made in terms of coffee quality, let alone coffee quality, ever after purchasing a good coffee grinder (Capresso 560). We have a lot of great coffee options in Seattle. The key to this coffee maker is the brewing temperature and the spray head. The very well designed and wide spray head spreads water over the surface, typically between 195 and 200 degrees according to my digital thermometer, and the result is more flavorful and hotter than any other coffee maker I've had over the years. Thermocone Decanter, Ceramic Cone Pourover, French Press, Aeropress. However, it does not stay hot in the supplied jug. I know well enough to preheat any thermograph before brewing. I do this by brewing a full pot of hot water and using the brewed hot water I pour out to warm my coffee mug. However, the carafe does not keep the coffee hot for longer than 15 minutes. warm, yes hot, no I bought another vacuum jug to pour coffee into after brewing to see if it could keep the excellent, flavorful coffee this machine brews at an acceptable temperature. We will provide an update in a few weeks. Apart from the carafe, I would highly recommend this coffee maker for the quality of the coffee, the starting temperature and the ease of use. Not to mention less than 50% less than the advertised Moccamaster. It's coffee, folks. We have to draw the line somewhere. And it's a great place to do that, apart from the carafe. A GREAT BUY for those who want to make the best coffee in a simple and practical coffee maker without sacrificing car fees.
