Greartisan 6V-90V 15A PLC DC Motor Speed Controller PWM Variable Speed Regulator Governor Switch CCMHCN With Speed Control Knob Review

I couldn't figure out how this damned thing worked. It didn't come with any instructions. I just wanted something with a knob I could put through a project box but this certainly wasn't it. I hooked up a 12 V DC 3A power supply to it and absolutely nothing came out the output end no matter where the dial was set.

Hooked it up to a multi-meter and dc bench power supply to test it out before installing and I'm glad I did as it doesn't work. I set voltage to 18v and the voltage reading on the multimeter was either 0 or 18v, everything between was just a fixed 18 until it was off. I tried various voltages and the same result.

It’s been about 4 mths. No issues. I would have given it 5 stars. The only issue I had with it should have been trivial. The nut that fastens the speed control knob to the dash wdid not come with it and the threads on appear have been cross threaded.?Maybe a return. Don’t know. However the box works flawlessly. Just have to figure out how to attach the knob assembly to my dash board.

Works controlling my 120rpm 12vdc motor. One thing to know is that this particular pwm speed control does Not have and off position like some other speed controllers. It was ok for me because I had a separate on/off switch with a fuse.

Hooked up to my sons power wheel. Lasted 2 days maybe, just very cheaply made. Improved the power wheel to 775 motors and 18volt lithium ion battery’s and was hoping for the speed controller to work but definitely did not work as well as I’d hoped for.

I've bought three of these and only one will work. It's a super drag to order a replacement and that one defctive as well. ‎No.

UPDATED REVIEW see updated comments below.Although the general build quality seems good, there's a problem with labeling/production. I ordered 2 of the 12-80 volt, 30A models. That's what the package says. However, the controller itself says 12-50V at the terminal strips. (I didn't notice this immediately). Within a very brief period of 72VDC hooked up, the capacitors inside went off like an M-80! Blew open the splits and let the magic smoke out, along with a spray of electrolyte. The good news

I'm using this to control a heater motor in my car (12V, less than 5 A). I ran the negatives to ground but I only get full speed. ideas?

Worked great on the Fantastic Fan for speed control and to reduce amp draw compared to the original three speed resistor. Wired it up so a push button toggle switch cuts power to the circuit, and the original forward/reverse switch still controls direction. No audible noise from controller, and a nice drop in amp draw. Circuit board was a little big for the space, but mounted it at an angle and shaved a little material off the heat sink to make it work.

This was an item reccomended by the seller,and worked as intended. You buy exactly what you see in the picture. it operates in the right range of motors we have tried it and regulates accordingly. Very happy with the buy.

I wanted a controller for my newly purchased 12 volt greenhouse fan that is 80W. I connected the controller to the fan and battery and it is amazing. This will make my battery last much longer as the discharge rate can be adjusted.

This didn’t last a few hours. Running on 18v. With low amp. I put it on a power wheels 4 wheeler. Would recommend spending more money and getting something American made! #stopthechinajunk

Cost was reasonable, it did not work when attempted to connect to a motor from the same company. Was looking to install in laser engraver to use for Z-AXIS. Neither device seems to work, no response from seller, nor was there an option to contact seller. AMAZON is getting to be like EBAY and allowing total junk to be sold.

I'm using this to control LED's which were installed underr the dash, as a means to provide background illumination after dark, while driving. The use of the LED's alighting the floorboards allows people with poor night vision to drive comfortably after dark. This control is very smooth and clean dimming with a quality feel to the on/off function.

Nice little unit. Used it to control led brightness for 20 bulb string of lights. Remote pot is great to fit into tight spaces.

Edit - June 20, 2020 Product works as advertised. I apparently did not understand what I purchased and what it actually does vs what YouTube videos told me it should do.Does not function correctly. This unit only outputs the input voltage. The terminals register 0 voltage until the knob reaches the input voltage. Then nothing changes the further you turn it. Unfortunately, it took me a while to get the pieces for my power wheels battery conversion project together. I went to hook it up today…

Not what they says it, i couldn't believe my eyes, this product was opened and was smelling burnt part, this company should do better, hiw could you sell defective to people in the name of business.

If I knew how to connect it. All I get is constant power . Any electric folks know how I can use this new switch to replace the one in the pic? Thx.

Tested for days on end and performed very well, no overheating.This was purchased for a prototype and passed the test. Will be purchasing more for the final product.
